We were modelers long before we started manufacturing. Our staff has over 50 years of combined modeling experience.
Motrak Models was officially started in 2003, with a line of Hydrocal and Resin based HO-Scale Coal and Sand car loads. Over the next few years we added gravel loads, ballast loads, retaining walls, and bridges. We also expanded into N and S-scale. We currently produce 9 different kinds of loads (coal, gravel, sand, scrap metal, scrap aluminum, woodchip, granite block, ore, and taconite) for 24 different freight car manufacturers, fitting over 150 different actual cars.
In 2006 we created our first laser-cut structure kit. We currently offer 5 different structure kits. All of our kits are available in HO-scale, and some are also available in N, S, and O-scale. If you want one of our kits, but it is not offered in your scale, please contact us to see if we have plans to release that kit in your scale. If we see there is enough interest for a specific kit in a specific scale, we will do our best to create the kit.
All of our kits are designed with the modeler in mind. Easy to follow instructions and many pre-cut items make the assembly of our kits simple. This allows the modeler to express their creativity and individuality with unique details, weathering, and bringing the scene to life, without spending too much time on the basic construction of the building.
